Arrival Information


All arriving passengers are required to present their travel documents for endorsement. Every passenger (except Singaporeans and Permanent Residents) must fill in an Immigration Disembarkation / Embarkation card (including one for each child). You can get the form on board your flight into Singapore or from the Immigration officers at the Airport.

Health clearance has been integrated with Immigration and a check for yellow fever vaccination certificates may be carried out at the Immigration counters. The Airport Health Authority may take preventive measures against passengers arriving from yellow fever endemic / infected areas.

Dutiable goods & items

A 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is levied on all goods imported into Singapore. If you are a visitor, tourist, returning citizen or permanent resident of Singapore, tax relief will be granted for all new purchases (excluding liquor and tobacco) under these conditions:

Period away from Singapore GST relief
Away for 48 hours or more $600
Away for less than 48 hours $150

GST is levied on goods purchased exceeding the above values. Tax relief will not be offered to work permit, employment, student, dependent or long-term pass holders.

Under the Singapore law, it is mandatory for arriving travellers to pay taxes to bring in cigarettes, tobacco products and all goods exceeding the duty-free concession and GST relief.

If you are bringing in such items, please make a declaration to the checking officier at the Red Channel as you exit the baggage claim area.

Prohibited & Controlled Items

Below are some items that are disallowed entry into Singapore without proper authorisation
  • Ammunition including empty cartridges, live bullets, ornaments made from empty cartridges, bullet-shaped lighters, grenade-shaped lighters
  • Armaments including firearm, stun guns, replica guns, antique guns, toy guns, dun-shaped lighters
  • Martial arts equipment including knuckle duster, nanchaku, ninja shoku, ninja star, truncheon
  • Explosives including fireworks, flares, toy gun caps
